Taste of Hardanger

Leave the city of Bergen behind and start the day by a cruise to Hardanger and Hardangerfjord, the queen of the fjord. Cruise along the fjord and explore the majestic landscape with tall mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, and fertile farms with thousands of fruit trees along the fjord. It is no coincidence that the monks started fruit production in Hardanger in the 14th century. The unique climate along the Hardangerfjord provides optimal conditions for growing apples of exceptionally high quality. And when the ingredients can't get any better, everything is ready for good sider and juices.

For generations, the famous Hardangerapple has been pressed and processed to perfection. In recent years, however, thepopularity, quality and standard have reached completely new heights. Sider from Hardanger can now boast several national and international awards. In the same way as Champagne, "Sider frå Hardanger" is a geographically protected name. The cider, which is made with apple juice and yeast on either wild yeast or the apple peel itself, is characterized by a light, sour and aromatic appletaste. redients can't get anybetter, everything is ready for good sider and juices.

At Nå in Sørfjorden there is a cluster of sider,and here you will visit a siderfarm and have a tasting of 5 different sider. After there will be a lunch served at the newly established restaurant Siderhuset Ola K. Siderhuset Ola K was established in the spring of 2021 as a supplement to what the wonderful siderproducers in theregion have created in recent years. Siderhuset is located in the middle of the Nordic sider paradise!

The house's history begins all the way back in 1912, when it was built as a practical general store where the locals could shop for their goods, send and collect mail. Not least, the house functioned as a gathering place.
